Why we only sell through distributors

Corium started with a simple observation: distributors had no shortage of imported leather promo items, and almost no premium, USA-made option they could put in front of a demanding client. The catalogs were full of bonded leather, PU and “genuine leather” that looked fine in a photo and peeled within a year. So we built the alternative.

We are a small team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We cut, stitch and deboss every piece ourselves from full-grain leather, and we sell exclusively through ASI, PPAI and SAGE distributors. No retail, no direct-to-consumer, no competing with our partners for their accounts. When a distributor brings Corium into an account, the account stays theirs.

That decision shaped everything else. Our minimum is 24 pieces because distributors quote 30-person board gifts, not just 5,000-piece giveaways. Our standard turnaround is about 10 business days because in-hands dates are real. Our setup charge is one line item, $100(V), because a quote with six surcharges is a quote that does not get presented.

Our mission is to make products that are as timeless as the companies that give them, and to make it easy for the distributor who brought us in to look great doing it.

From hide to in-hands

How a Corium piece is made.

The leather. Full-grain hides from one of the finest tanneries in the world, in Black, Chocolate, Copper, Navy, Red Maple and Emerald Green. Full-grain means the top layer is intact, so the piece keeps its natural grain and develops a patina instead of wearing through.

The cut and the stitch. Each pattern is cut in our Minneapolis factory and stitched on industrial machines by our own team. Bags and accessories get solid brass hardware; select pieces pair leather with heavy canvas in Black, Natural, Pine and Navy.

The deboss. Your client’s logo becomes a custom die and is pressed into the leather, blind or with gold or silver foil. It is part of the material, so it never peels or fades. Our debossing guide covers the details.

The ship. Bulk-packed, FedEx from Minneapolis, blind drop shipped to your client if you like, with a tracking number in your inbox.
