A leather journal cover is the corporate gift that fixes the problem with corporate journals. A branded notebook is used up and thrown away in a quarter; a refillable full-grain leather cover outlasts a dozen inserts and keeps the client's logo on the desk for years. For distributors it is also one of the easiest leather pieces to quote, because the only decisions are size, color and whether to add the recipient's initials. This guide covers sizes, inserts, personalization, pricing and the programs that buy custom leather journal covers.
Three sizes, one idea
Corium's journal covers are cut and stitched from full-grain leather in our Minneapolis factory and come in Small, Medium (8.5" × 6") and Large, each with an elastic closure and a 2" × 2" imprint area on the front panel. Inserts are not included, which is deliberate: the client's recipient slides in the pocket notebook or full-size journal they already use, and swaps it when it is full. Six leather colors (Black, Chocolate, Copper, Navy, Red Maple, Emerald Green) cover most brand palettes. The cover develops a patina with handling, and the debossed logo deepens with it.

The rest of the writing family
Three related pieces sit alongside the covers in the journal covers and writing accessories collection, and they let you ladder a program by budget. The Desk Jotter (6.75" × 4.25", 100 sheets of unlined paper included, standard refills) is the under-$30 piece for conference bags and welcome kits. The refillable notebook sleeves with a stretch cord come in three sizes for teams that standardize on a particular notebook. And the Classic and Monochrome bookmarks are the entry price point for author events, law firms, universities and library foundations.

Personalization: logo plus initials
The logo is blind-debossed as standard, pressed tone-on-tone into the leather with a custom die ($100(V) tooling, $31.25(V) on repeat orders). Gold and silver foil are available for recognition and milestone programs. The move that turns a journal into a keepsake is initials: names or initials are debossed with type dies on the front panel or inside flap and can be added at any quantity, so a 24-piece leadership order can carry 24 different monograms. Our post on logo versus monogram covers when to lead with each. For an event, live stamping presses initials in front of guests.
Programs that buy journal covers
Executive onboarding and leadership development. The medium cover with the company logo and the recipient's initials is the standard "welcome to the leadership team" piece, usually paired with a desk mat.
Sales kickoffs and offsites. A journal on every seat with the event mark debossed is used in the room that day and carried home.
Board, speaker and advisor gifts. The large cover in Black or Chocolate reads as a serious gift without a serious invoice.
Year-end client appreciation. A journal cover ships flat, survives the carrier and looks like it cost more than it did. See our holiday order-date guide for timing.
Education and nonprofit recognition. Donor thank-yous, faculty milestones, graduate gifts: a bookmark for volume, a cover for the top tier.
Pricing and minimums
Corium sells only through promotional products distributors, 24-piece minimum, price breaks at 100, 250 and 500. Approximate per-piece ranges across the tiers: Small cover $24 to $27, Medium $36 to $41, Large $55 to $62, Desk Jotter $18 to $28 depending on edge, bookmarks $8 to $18. One die usually serves every piece in a mixed order because the imprint area is the same, so a journal cover plus a bookmark for the same client is one tooling charge. Current pricing is in ESP and SAGE and on each product page.
Artwork, samples and lead time
We need the logo as a vector file with type converted to outlines; the debossing guide and Vector Files 101 explain what works and what does not. Unbranded samples are available at EQP; branded samples are EQP plus tooling, and the die carries over to production. Most orders ship FedEx from Minneapolis within 10 business days of artwork approval, bulk-packed or blind drop shipped to individual recipients. Send the logo, quantity and in-hands date to sales@coriumusa.com for a mockup, or order through ESP (ASI 46669) or SAGE (52340). Terms are on the how to order page.
Quick answers
Is a notebook included with the journal cover? No. The cover is refillable by design; the recipient uses the pocket notebook or journal they already carry and swaps it when it is full.
Which size is the safe default for a corporate gift? Medium (8.5" × 6"). It fits most mid-size notebooks, sits flat on a desk and carries a 2" × 2" logo without crowding the panel.
Can I mix sizes or colors in one order? Yes, within the 24-piece minimum; the same logo die serves every size because the imprint area is the same.
How fast can a journal order ship? Most orders ship within 10 business days of artwork approval, FedEx from Minneapolis, bulk-packed or blind drop shipped.
